About This Game

The Idolm@ster Shiny Colors: Song for Prism is an idol training simulation and rhythm game developed by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. It is scheduled to be available on the App Store and Google Play.

In the game, the player takes on the role of a producer at 283 Production and manages a number of idols,  you can train 26 different idols.

The game is separated into a producer part and a rhythm game part, with the producer part focusing on training the idols and their units.

The player creates a schedule for the idols, including times for lessons and work. Taking lessons will improve the stats of the idols as well as grant skills and production cards. The goal is to develop your unit while interacting with the idols.

After passing the final audition, you can view a “Memorial Concert” that looks back on the idols’ journey. The memories that you have created with your idols are shown as cutscenes during the live performance, and the content of these scenes will change depending on which idols you trained, which story events you witnessed, and the extent to which you trained your idols.

The rhythm game part is just how it sounds—you create a unit of idols that you have trained and play a rhythm game. In the footage that has been revealed, you can see four lanes of notes that you must tap with the correct timing to build up combos and aim for high scores. In the background of these stages, you can see your idols performing the song in full 3D. This mode includes five different difficulty levels, so players can choose the one that best fits their skill level.

Im@s being amazing as usual with SoP, the graphics look very nice (LOVE the new MVS, every song gets a 3d MV) and the story segments are done well (my japanese isn't very good but i got the gist of it, also only played IS and shhis rn). Current event is also good, only problems rn are: The Produce runs, (I cleared hard btw), support system is great, but it can be very confusing for newbies who haven't played og shinymas, also now that produce and support cards have different gacha, it becomes difficult to get support SSRs. Hopefully they add more songs and character solos too, I'm a NichikaP so I'm in heaven atm, but other players have their oshis so it would be nice.[開心] Anyway, I'll sign out and finish an alstromeria run before bed maybe, lol.

Personally really love the Produce mode and the way it integrates with the rhythm game aspect. Really unique in that regard. Produce mode is similar to the previous Shiny Colors game, though they lessened the RNG and added some card gameplay to make things more interesting (which I think they succeeded at). Rhythm game is basically identical to Project Sekai's I reckon, but don't fix what ain't broke I guess. Japanese isn't too difficult either, so the game is fairly easy to understand (I'm N3 level and can understand just about everything I need to). Graphics and sound are great, though it lags and heats up the phone in some places. There are options to adjust performance and graphical fidelity though, and I'm just personally not willing to cut the graphics down too much lol. Gacha is fairly standard, and you can get plenty of gacha currency and tickets just by participating in the events. Events and dailies are also easy to grind through, as there is auto and skip available for both the produce and rhythm game portions.
